Precious Colleagues of Mine,
It has come to my attention that due to a commotion at the last inn we stayed at, I forgot to attach the detailed descriptions of the council in my previous letter. Apparently some innkeeper's find it acceptable to bring you mushroom soup for dinner when you have expressly forbidden any such fungus from you dining area. Let it be known that it will be quite a while before I return the the Scalded Cauldron for another meal. Back to the topic on hand though, I believe that the descriptions provided below will be an acceptable initial form of the duties for the ranking members of the Equality Brigade Guild.
Signed Your Perpetually-Revered Friend,
Kieran Darkwater
Council of Six: This is the
governing body of the guild known as the Equality Brigade. Their function is to
oversee the daily routines and processes of the guild to ensure smooth
operations throughout the organization. Each member of the Council takes on one
of the senior duties described in the hierarchy of EB.
Archivist: The Archivist is
in charge of: collecting, recording, transcribing, and the safe storage of all
books/literature/writing/scrolls/lore that the guild members happen to collect
throughout their adventures in Faerun. These are to be used to further advance
the knowledge and abilities of the Brigade to ensure our goals are being
achieved.
Envoy: The Envoy is the Brigade’s
liaison with any influential members of foreign entities. This may include, but
is not limited to: foreign dignitaries, faction leaders, law enforcement
officials, or any other groups that may wish to be in contact with our
burgeoning company.
Quartermaster: The
Quartermaster is in charge of maintaining the Brigade’s supply network. This includes:
ensuring overall quality in armaments and armor, ensuring ample supplies of
food are prepared for any expeditions that members of the Brigade might
venture, and storage and inventory of all miscellaneous items that might fall
into the jurisdiction of the Brigade (i.e. trade goods, non-magical adventuring
equipment, and misc items).
Secretary: The Secretary is
in charge of facilitating all of the necessary paperwork and administration
duties within the Equality Brigade. This ensures that members will have proper
documentation for travel between cities and kingdoms, as well as ensuring that
the proper protocols are being followed and enforced within the association.
Taskmaster: The Taskmaster’s
duties are to look after the lower ranking members of the Brigade and the
auxiliary units that comprise the network of associates that we may have
collected. The Taskmaster: delegates jobs to lower ranking members, ensures any
retainers that we may have are actively assisting in the advancement of the
Brigade’s objectives, and ensuring all animals under the property of the
Brigade are well fed and fit for any required duties that they may have.
Treasurer: The Treasurer’s
duties are to ensure that the fiscal properties of the Brigade are being
properly managed and safely stored. This includes any guild supplies that are
equivalent to monetary funds (i.e. cp, sp, ep, gp, pp, jewelry, ore, precious
stones/gems, etc.). The treasurer ensures the proper user and growth of the funds
reserve by establishing a set percentage from any loot found during adventures
to the Brigade Diversity Fund, which is at the expenditure of the Council of
Six to use as they see fit to further the Brigade’s cause.
Executor: The sole purpose of the Executor
is to resolve any stalemates that may come into conflict during decisions made
by the Council of Six. A new Executor is chosen, randomly, every six months and
must be one of the current Council of Six. No Executor may be chosen twice in a
row but may serve as many time as they like throughout their time on the
Council.
I must be mistaken, for the life of me I cannot find a position worthy of one as fabulous as myself. Perhaps there is something more befitting of my impeccable style and tastes.
ReplyDeleteWhile that is certainly something that we may discuss as we come to agree on the exact nature of each position. I might suggest that for the mean time, of the members of our esteemed group you seem like the most likely choice to call upon to create the proper emblem or symbol for the Brigade to use.
